What is the STs4xxx?

The STs4xxx is an isolated, 2-wire, 4-20 ma transmitter with an easily replaceable cable assembly and conductivity sensor.  2% per degree temperature compensation is standard. The transmitter and cable are fully submersible to 200 feet and it is constructed of robust 316SS and PVDF.  The transmitter comes standard with a 10 meter (33 feet) cable included, but, optional lengths are available up to 300 meters (1000 feet).
A non-isolated version is also available, denoted as the STs4xxxN.

Typical prices range from $592.00 to $740.00see pricing

What is the STs4xxxT?

The STs4xxxT is the same as the submersible STs4xxx mentioned above, but has a completely independent, isolated 2-wire, 4-20 ma transmitter that linearly outputs temperature in the same package (0-50 degrees Celsius).  Therefore, the STs4xxxT yields both conductivity and temperature outputs independently, and concurrently, on different channels.  A non-isolated version is also available, denoted as the STs4xxxTN.

Typical prices range from $672.00 to $940.00see pricing

What is the STs4xxxB?

The STs4xxxB is a non-isolated, battery-powered transmitter with a 0.40 to 2.00 vdc output proportional to the conductivity range of interest.  The transmitter incorporates a readily available, replaceable AA battery that will typically last three years.  This transmitter works well with DVM's for spot checking, or, battery operated data loggers that must be left unattended for extended periods of time.

Optional outputs are available (0 - 1.00 vdc, 0 -- 2.50 vdc, etc., just ask!).

Typical prices range from $592.00 to $740.00see pricing

What is the STs4xxxV?

The STs4xxxV is a non-isolated, micro-power transmitter (less than 250 ua typical) that is compatible with the pHionics' SL-1 or SL-2 sensorloggerTM, or can be externally powered via a battery or voltage source of 4 to 16 volts dc.  The transmitter yields a 0.40 to 2.00 vdc output proportional to the conductivity range of interest.  The transmitter is ideal for data logging, RTU, or solar-powered applications.

Optional outputs are available (0 - 1.00 vdc, 0 -- 2.50 vdc, etc., just ask!).

Typical prices range from $592.00 to $740.00 see pricing

What is the STs4Exxx 4-electrode conductivity transmitter?

                        4 electrode conductivity transmitter schematic

The 4-electrode scheme for conductivity measurement compensates for the electrical interface anomalies that occur when an electrode and current are impressed upon a solution.  The method minimizes the effects of polarization, electrode contamination (coatings -- algae, grease, mud, etc.), double-layer effect, and electrode area (current density) -- to name a few.

The two 'drive' electrodes (output of the amplifiers) provide whatever is being requested by the high impedance 'sense' electrodes to maintain the amplifiers and the 'sense' pair of electrodes in a happy state.  The conditioning circuit compensates for temperature effects and transmits this information in a useful format.

This technique is ideal for measurements that need to be made over long periods of time with a minimum of supervision and maintenance.  It is the preferred method for contacting conductivity measurement (toroidal is recommended for rare, and, extreme environments that are not suitable to the electrode material).  4-electrode conductivity measurement is ideal for groundwater, wastewater, and, process applications.

The STs4Exxx is available in the same formats as our standard conductivity transmitters -- the
STs4Exxx , the STs4ExxxT , the STs4ExxxB , and the STs4ExxxV .

Typical prices range from $680.00 to $1050.00 see pricing
